Cam’s WITB

Cam’s WITB

The first thing I always do when I start following a golf influencer or golf pro is to find what’s in their bag (WITB). What you carry can say a lot about you personally and of course your golf game. Today, I’ll be going over all 14 clubs that make up my bag.

“It’s a funny thing, the more I practice the luckier I get — but it sure helps to have a good set of clubs.” – Arnold Palmer

Driver: Callaway Ai Smoke Triple Diamond

The Ai Smoke TD is an absolute monster of a driver. The 450cc head has a sleek, tour-driven profile, delivering low spin characteristics. I have it paired with a Black Hzrdous 60g shaft for even lower spin and to fit my aggressive swing tempo. When I’m swinging well, this club is a missile launcher. Although the TD model is not as forgiving as the stock model, I still get quite a bit of forgiveness on my very frequent off centre strikes. Most importantly, this club looks absolutely stunning.

Fairway Woods: TaylorMade SIM 3-wood & SIM 5-wood

The SIM fairway woods are all business. The 3-wood is a low-launching rocket that I turn to when I want that extra rollout off the deck or a tight tee shot that needs to stay low and long. The face feels hot and the sound is pure, especially when I catch one flush. The 5-wood is more forgiving and gives me that nice high launch when I need to carry a bunker or stick it into a par 5 green. Both clubs have that stealthy carbon crown look that gives off serious confidence. They aren’t the newest models but they still hang with anything out there when it comes to ball speed and feel.

Hybrid: TaylorMade SIM2 4-Hybrid

This hybrid is an absolute cheat code from 210 out. It’s stupid easy to hit even out of some gnarly lies and the ball flight is high with just the right amount of spin to hold greens. The SIM2 design feels super balanced and I never feel like I have to force it. It bridges the gap between my 5 wood and irons perfectly and gives me that go-to option when I’m between clubs. Clean at address and reliable under pressure, it’s earned a permanent spot in my bag as a replacement for my 4 iron (which I cannot hit for the life of me).

Irons: TaylorMade Rocketbladez 5i to PW

These irons have been with me for a long time and they’re still getting the job done. The RocketBladez are built for distance and forgiveness and that’s exactly what I need in my iron game. The feel isn’t buttery soft like a forged blade but when I hit them well the ball jumps off the face and flies high with a strong, consistent flight. The Speed Pocket tech in the sole definitely helps on those thin strikes and gives me some extra carry when I don’t catch it perfectly. They might be an older set but they still deliver the distance and control I need to score.

Wedges: TaylorMade RocketBladez 50°, Vokey SM5 54° S Grind, Vokey SM6 60° S Grind

My wedge setup is a bit of a mix, but it works. The 50° RocketBladez wedge blends right in with the rest of my iron set and gives me the consistency I need on full swings inside 120 yards. The SM5 54° with the S grind and 10 degrees of bounce is my go-to for most greenside work. It feels super reliable on everything from bunker shots to tight fairway lies. The 60° SM6 also has the S grind with 10 degrees of bounce and gives me that extra loft when I need to hit a high, soft shot or get creative around the green. I like the way it sits open and the spin control is still solid even though it’s been in the bag for a while. Each wedge has its role and together they cover every shot I need from about 120 yards and in.

Putter: Odyssey Versa 7

The Versa 7 is a straight-up confidence booster on the greens. The fang-style head gives me a super stable feel through the stroke and the black and white contrast helps me lock in my alignment without overthinking it. It’s got a nice, soft feel off the face and gives me that consistent roll I’m looking for, especially on mid-range putts. I’ve tested other putters over the years but I always end up coming back to this one. The fang-style head also allows me to pick up my ball without bending down, which is a must-have feature when it comes to putters.

Final Thoughts

I bought every club in my bag through Facebook Marketplace. It took some time to find the right pieces and a little effort to track down good deals, but it was definitely worth it. Putting together a setup like this without paying full retail price feels just as satisfying as hitting a pure iron shot. It proves that you do not need brand new gear to play confident golf. All you need are the right tools and a swing you can trust.
